Robin Frette, Retired from Federated Insurance in Learning and Development

Robin grew up on a farm in Southwestern Minnesota.  She earned a BS in Business Administration from Southwest Minnesota State University and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.  She worked in Human Resources with PPG Industries in Marshall, MN, and Sandoz Nutrition in Minneapolis before moving to Owatonna in 1988 to become the HR Manager at NCS (now NCS Pearson).   In 1994 she moved to Federated Insurance in Learning and Development where she enjoyed pursing her passion of helping others learn and grow until her retirement in 2019.  She has served on numerous boards over the years, including the Owatonna Chamber of Commerce and the Riverland Foundation, where she held the office of President.

Robin is a recent past Chair of the HHO Board of Directors and currently serves as the House Operations Committee Chair.  She and her husband, Kent, live in Owatonna but when they’re not traveling, spend lots of time “at the farm” where they are continuously remodeling the house her grandfather built in 1910.  “Giving back is an important part of our lives and I find it deeply humbling and satisfying to be a part of the Hospitality House of Owatonna and share any talents and experience that may benefit our guests.  I have learned so much in the process and am amazed at the resiliency and determination our guests demonstrate in facing life challenges. It’s an honor to be a small part of their journey.”
